Strengthening hydrogen and fuel cell technology through a strong Saxon network
AIP is part of the HZwo innovation cluster, Saxony's center of excellence for the future-oriented topics of fuel cells and green hydrogen. The aim of the cluster is to establish a comprehensive value-added network in the Free State of Saxony and to introduce the participating players to future sales markets at an early stage. This will create a decisive technological advantage that will secure Saxony's position as a high-tech location in the long term.
HZwo connects companies, research facilities, and institutions along the entire value chain. In addition to traditional areas of drive manufacturing, such as transmissions and compressors, fuel cell vehicles also open up new market potential for companies from other Saxon industries. The knowledge gained in the course of the projects contributes to the targeted pooling of knowledge and expertise in the field of fuel cell technology and supports the establishment of a new industry in Saxony.
At the same time, Saxony's key competencies in the fields of mobility, life sciences, mechanical engineering, microelectronics/ICT, and environmental and energy technology are being strengthened directly or indirectly. A particular focus is placed on a resource-saving, ecologically and economically sustainable design of the entire value chain – from the selection of materials to production and the distribution of fuel cells.
By participating in the HZwo innovation cluster, AIP is making an active contribution to the energy transition and the sustainable development of forward-looking drive technologies.
